Should I identify as queer or gay? How do you know?

I'm female, very much a woman, and mostly attracted to women (femme, butch, anything in between). I look for female partners 90% of the time. However, sometimes I certainly AM attracted to men. So what's the deal? Is queer an umbrella term for anyone in the gay//bi/trans community? Should I tell people I am gay or queeer?
