Is Harry related to Voldemort?

In Half-Blood Prince, it's revealed that the Gaunts, Voldemort's maternal side of the family, is related to one of the Peverell brothers. Then, in Deathly Hallows, it says that Harry is a descendant of Ignotus Peverell. Technically, it means that Harry and Voldemort are very distantly related. Right? Has J. K. Rowling given any statement on this?
